How you can Help

We need your help in all areas of the Haunted House, from Construction, to Haunting. we also need room sponsors, donations of props, building supplies, decorations, just about anything you can think of.

If you don't want to contribure manhours for the labor effort, you can still help. See the "Our Wishlist" page for a list of materials and props we still need, buy one, and drop it off at the Citrus County Auditorium. You will be credited as a Sponsor.

We start planning well in advance. We have monthly meetings to plan, brainstorm, and generally figure everything out. The county center in Lecanto ( behind fire training). The next meeting is scheduled for Febuary 19th, 2008 at 6pm.

While the decision has been made to stick with the castle theme, we have not yet decided what we are changing. This is done over the course of several months at the meetings. Everyone is welcome to attend, but those are planning to visit the haunted house, but not planning to help are discouraged from attending, as the meetings could spoil the expierence.

Due to conflicts with the dance class, it was decided to move the meetings to another location, and, change the meeting week, in hopes more people will be able to attend. Although the next meeting will be the Third Tuesday.. Our normal meeting night will be the Third Wednesdays.

DEC 11, 2007

The base update for the haunted house was approved pending availability of props.
Discussed was what went wrong, and what we can do the improve the minor issues we encountered.
Amoung the major issues was increasing guest capacity. Queue times reached 1.5 hours at times in 2007, and while the guests said it was well worth the wait, we can expect a larger volume of guests in 2008, meaning we need to increase capacity.
Proposals were made that would increase capacity by 4-8 times with a scale down option to maintain a limited queue line. This change would allow us to serve as many as 2,500 guest per day assuming we maintain full volume. The scale down option allows us to maintain a minimum 15 minute queue time, allowing guest anticipation to build.

Additionally, it was decided to add a Coven room of witches, prop designs and needs were discussed.
